I debated in my mind if I should write a post on infidelity in light of the recent scandal regarding Arnold Schwarzeneggar's affair 10 years ago. So I decided today that I would even though I am not married and never have been married. I think one of the BIGGEST reason why I never got married is because I do not trust men and I am not being unkind, I am simply reasoning with reality in my mind.
There is evidence every where including the evangelical church that men cheat. I could go down the list and name one name after another of men who cheated on there wives......from McGreevy, to Haggard, to Edwards and who can forget Tiger Woods. And remember Mark Sanford and Jimmy Swaggart, Elliot Spitzer and Brett Favre and who was the name of the man who had an affair with the new intern, Chandra Leevy, who showed up dead? Oh and what about Newt Gingrich who has been married three times and had an affair while his wife was on her death bed!
I believe it is true that men cheat more than women do. Is that a sexist remark? I do not know, but what about the facts? It is true that more women are raped than men, more women are domestically abused than men and more women are forced into marriage without their consent than men are. It is also true that more women are treated like sex objects than men are. And it is true that more men are redeemed in society after a "mistake" than women are. If a high profile woman cheats on her husband, she is basically labeled a "whore" and disgarded like a dirty rag but if a man cheats, well, he's just being a man after all and is sowing his "wild oats" because it is just nature for a man to carry on the human race, right? If you ever watch a nature program, the males dominate the females to carry on the species. Yet so many men behave in the same such fashion because they are hunters and expect to always have the upper hand. But that's in the wild, not a civilized society!
Women are expected to look and act perfect so much of the time.......is it not true that more emphasis is put on women's appearance, such as their weight and their age, than men's. How many weight loss ads do we see for women but not for men? Why is it that men can look like slobs and no one cares but if a woman has the slightest imperfection it is magnified? If a woman gets mad or becomes emotional she is considered a live wire or a psycho but if a man gets angry......well he is just a man with a lot of testosterone. It's bullshit!
Women are treated more like second class citizens than men are.....is it any wonder why there has been a radical feminist movement for many years now! Can you really blame women for that, who for so many years have been suppressed and are now fighting for their rights........the same rights that men have. Just like the blacks who practically burned Los Angeles down because they were sick and tired of being treated like second class citizens. Are women any different who feel mistreated?
If a woman poses in playboy or is a prostitute or has a natural desire for sex, she is basically a whore and is deserving of such treatment and disrespect but a man can put secret cameras and watch a woman naked, (a peeping Tom....remember the ESPN reporter whose naked pictures where posted all over the web), he can read playboy magazine and he can look at internet porn and go to a strip club and still be a "man". And what about in current day archaic societies where a woman is disregarded as trash because she is no longer a virgin? Or she is stoned to death because she cheated on her husband? Those are indeed facts that are happening in our world today and there is no denying such realities.
Women are sexually harrased more than men and women are paid much less than men even though their work is equal to a man if not better. During World War II, women put together the airplanes, tanks, bombs and ships that men traditionally did because all the men were fighting over seas. Who can forget Rosie the Riviter? Women became so skilled on those assembly lines and actually flew fighter jets.....a job equal to a man and some women even taught men how to fly. With all their efforts and hard work, women still were not respected in our society because they were told they were no longer needed on the assembly line and needed to go back to the homes. Even while the women worked hard on those assembly lines they were still treated like sex symbols......pin up girls that all the men lusted after. Were these women acknowledged for their skilled hands and smart brains? No, because women have always been treated like sex symbols by our society and truly it is sad!
How long did women have to fight for their right to vote? And if a women asks for a raise or desires to be compensated for her work, is she not looked upon as selfish? If a woman is attractive natually, is any other quality noticed about her.....perhaps her intellect or her experience or her skills or is she just regarded as a sex object and nothing else because she couldn't possibly have brains now could she?
