Greedy and powerful corporations that prey upon the consumer.

What does it take for Congress to get their act together? Why is there not many more laws on the books to protect consumers? Why are these large corporations and multi-nationals raping the consumer? Is it because the consumer is blind to these actions or is it that the corporations have them deceived? Is it is because Congress has not done enough to stand up for the little guy?

Just recently I wrote a post about my bank National City in whom I did not have any problems with until they were bought out by PNC. National City had no liquidity on their books because they invested heavily in the subprime market which in turn caused them to go bankrupt. So PNC bought them out and as soon as PNC bought them out, I was immediately assaulted with overdraft fees as much 6 in one day! These banks puposely program their computers to take the larger transaction through your account first so that IF you overdraw, they can hit you up with as many overdraft fees ($39 each) on as little a transaction as .25 cents! They do this with an agenda to maximize their profits with no reguard to the little unsuspecting consmer.....Joe Sixpack or Jane Doe who is going paycheck to paycheck paying his/her bills! Nothing but contempt for the little guy.

Now we know just recently Congress finally passed a law that banks could no longer charge that many overdraft fees to the consumer and they are only allowed 2 overdraft fees charged to the consumer in a period of one year. And they no longer can hit you up with more than 1 overdraft fee in a day! And they must make very clear all the fees that you will be charged.

I was very provoked with anger when PNC charged me 6 overdraft fees in one day. I called the bank immediately and some young arrogant kid on the other line tells me I am a bad money manager and that it is my fault. Well that was the final straw for me..........I no longer deal with banks because I have had enough of their unrestrained greed. I emailed my senators and local politicians and made phone calls. I was angry and rightly so! Where is the protection for the consumer? These hugh multi-nationals have powerful lobbyists that seduce Washington with their big bucks and most policy makers will kiss their butt and take the cash because bribery and usury is NOT a thing of the past........it goes on all the time and this is why Washington is corrupt which in the end will ultimately lead to their demise like in the fall of the Roman Empire and the Third Reich. The inefficiencies and corruption is what led to the fall of the Soviet Union.

When will these people in Washington develope a moral conscience? They are sold out to the international banking cartel and have bailed them out with one bailout package after another all the while printing more money and inflating our dollar and mounting our debt so that it has now surpassed our own so-called richest economy in the world. America is no longer the country with the biggest balls. America has a very real sovereign debt crisis, not to mention a very real moral crisis as well.

When Net Neutrality comes knocking on the door of Congress, they had better pass a law that will FORBID these corporations from gaining too much power. These corporations should NOT be able to control what web pages you can see and at what speed you receive them. All people have the RIGHT to view equally information disseminated on the web and I refuse to pay for broad band service that slows my speed purposely or shuts down my connection on purpose or will not allow me to view certain content on the web!

I would encourage anyone to make their voice heard when it comes to these important issues. They are ethical issues and your Senators and policy makers need to hear our voices.

Those banks never should have been bailed out. Yes, the Federal Reserve chairman and those in the presidents administration will tell everyone that the banks must be bailed out with OUR tax dollars, but what about the little guy? Who is looking out for him? Obviously no one because just look at our country and the direction is has taken in the past several decades. The anti-trust laws that were on the books were there for a reason......to prevent banks from getting too big and too powerful. But because Washington was seduced by money and power they capitulated to the powerful banking lobbyist and these banks succeeded in abolishing those anti-trust laws and that is why we had a severe market crash. Many of these powerful oil and gas corportations do not give a damn about our safety. They are in it for the money and tons of money there is to be had.......at the expense of our health and safety! You had better make sure your drinking water is safe and you had better check again and again because there is no telling what lurks in there. Do your research and you will be shocked at the lack of concern that these oil and gas companies have about your safety and the damage done to the environment.
