Yes, yes, I know that sounds very pessimistic, but I believe it is true and so do many other people. I do not live in Utopia. I live in reality and my reality may be quite different than yours. When I look at all the monumental problems facing this country and the lack of leadership to address those problems, I know for certain America is finished.
Most people are somewhat aware of our continued dependence on Mideastern oil and the instablity and volatility of those areas and yet nothing has been done to confront this problem. In the 70's when the oil embargo (because of our support of Israel) strangled our economy and many where left devastated, our leaders promised to address our obvious dependence on Mideast oil and yet things remain the same. Do they not? Is this why we keep spending billions and billions of foreign dollars to go to war? Most world leaders (China, America, Russia, etc.) have already anounced that oil is vital to their economies and is of National Security. And yet when a barrel of oil reaches $200 on the NYMEX and your gas cost you $8.00 a gallon, do you not think that that would more than likely take this already anemic economy over the cliff and into dispair?
Where are the domestic responsiblities that our Presidents are supposed to care about?
Most people are aware of our crumbling infrastruture......they cross the bridges and roads with potholes and rust and get ticked off when their car hits a massive pothole and ruins their car or SUV. And yet they wonder why. When the Minneapolis bridge collapsed during rush hour traffic in August of 2007, more people became aware of this growing problem. The bridge had already been deemed structurally deficient by engineers and yet nothing was done. The Tapenzee Bridge in New York is on the verge of collapse. Experts believe it will more than likely collapse in less than 5 years, so why hasn't the public been made more aware of this and their safety? When the leeves collapsed during Hurrican Katrina, New Orleans was engulfed with water and many were swept away by the rising waters and yet those leeves were deemed deficient by engineers and once again nothing was done. Water and gas lines are breaking all over this country and our electrical grid is archaic according to current day demands. Do you know why the whole east coast suffered a power outage in the summer of 2003? Old transformers and electrical lines and grids that have not been updated in many places and are as much as 60 years old. Money simple is NOT being allocated to correct this problem. During the Eisenhower administration the federal government allocated about 9% of spending for infrastruture.......today it is only 2%. This is why America is looking more and more like a third world country. China spends at least 10% on their infrastruture. How is America ever going to compete with that when speed is everything for the moving of goods in a global economy?
Most people are also somewhat aware of the massive corruption in Washington. Power corporations, lobbyists and the International Banking Cartel have a stranglehold on Washington and bribes are the standard and the norm. The Federal Reserve which was put into law in 1913 has not ONCE been audited or accounted for and yet the Federal Reserve Chairman has NO IDEA where most of the $700 billion of the bail out package (aka recovery package) went. Where is all our money going? And why does the Fed keep printing money (quantitive easing) like their is no tomorrow? Doesn't anyone know anymore how devastating that will be to our dollar? And how that can cause massive inflation? But most Americans actually trust their government and actually believe that the Federal Reserve is Federal and that it is a reserve of some sort. If you believe that, well, you may as well believe in the Tooth Fairy! Because the Federal Reserve is nothing but a small group of private Investment Banks that CONTROL OUR MONEY. Why should any bank control our money? Don't you think the American people should control their own money and determine where that money is spent? President Andrew Jackson thought so. That is why he flat out REFUSED to give the International Banking Cartel control of this Nations money. Jackson called them a "Den of Vipers" and is it any wonder why? Since the Federal Reserves' inception, America has accumulated a $14 TRILLION debt! So you tell me..........is the Federal Reserve really good? Deception is their middle name and they are extremely skilled at that.
Our whole financial system is based solely on credit. We have basically traded our wealth into the World Trade Organization and created a massive trade deficit so deep that it has surpassed the Mariana Trench, all because our genius leaders think trading with China will keep America competitive and prosperous. Yet since joining the World Trade Organization, our great wealth which includes our manufacturing base and industry has been moved off shore and never before have we such disparities between the rich and the poor with the wealthest holding the top percent and the rest of us.........well, you should be lucky if you have any money for retirement left in your 401k, that is, if you even have one!
Water and food shortages are becoming more and more of a problem, even here in America! This is why more states are imposing water limits and the cost of food is going through the roof.
Our borders are not secure. The Mexican drug cartel has essentially taken down our borders and have moved much of their network here in the states. Gangs, along with murders, rapes and stabbings, and decapitations are just about an everyday occurrence and illegal immigrants are scattered all throughout this country living on welfare and inundated our emergency rooms causing them to fold up and close.
The corruption, the inefficiencies, Barbarian invaders and their armies spread too far caused the Mighty Roman Empire to collapse. America is no different!
